Sustainability and the Environment

Sustainable - making things continue and keep going. We have a fragile earth and the population is predicted to be 9.7 billion by 2050.

Sustainability of raw materials:

• Finite - non renewable, will run out one day - e.g. fossil fuels. They are being used at a faster rate than at which they are made. E.g. coal, gas and oil. Cannot be man-made.
• Renewable energy - will not run out, always made by nature. E.g. wind, waves, solar, hydro, geothermal, biomass, tidal
• Non-finite resource - will not…
