Birth Rates -  FALLEN, Birth Rates per 100 - 29 in 1909, 12 in  2000

BUT, BABY BOOMS - in 1960 and BOTH WW.

Also, fertility rates have also decreased in the past 40 years. Family size has declined from an average of 3 to 1.6 children. Births outside marriges account for nearlly half of all births.
