Deviation from ideal mental health:

Jahoda (1958) pointed out that we define physical illness in part by looking at the absence of signs of physical health. She identified six characteristics of ideal mental health:
 Self attitude: positive self esteem and strong sense of identity
 Integration: being able to deal with stressful events

Self actualisation:  extent to which an individual develops
