Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis is a Chronic autosomal recessive inherited disorder which affects the normal movement of salt and water around the body creating sticky mucous. Both parents have to pass on this gene to the child and the chromosome responsible is the 7q. The life expectancy is 30 years but research and medication have increased this to around 47 years.
