Method:60 middle-class japanese, 1 year old infants and mothers observed in strange situation

Findings:68%securely attached ,32% insecure resistant and 0% insecure avoidaant . 90% of infants had to have their mother come back early as they were so distressed.

conclusion: there are cross culture variations  could be because japanese infants almost never left on their own or japanese children are thaught that such behaviour is activly discouraged. styrange situation doesnt have the same meaning between cultures so its not
