remember, emotivism does not intend to be an ethical theory, but simply an analysis of the nature and content of ethical language 

  • Emotivism is based on Logical Positivism and so removes any factual content from ethical language and does not discuss 'ethical facts'
  • However, as James Rachel points out, 'moral judgements appeal to reason', they are not just expressions/feelings
