Criminal Cases Review - CCRC
An independent body to consider suspected miscarriage of justice and was set up under the Criminal Appeal Act 1995 and came into being January 1997 due to the high proile misscarriage of justices. Such as the Birmingham Six, the Guildford Four and Judith Ward. The Derek Bentley case shows how effective the CCRC is. the case of Ryan James also shows the effectiveness of the CCRC
