Who commits crime? Who are the victims?

  • In 2006, 80% of offenders were male and 7% were aged under 18
  • 2.1% of all 15 year old girls and 6.1% of all 17 year old men were guilty, or cautioned (giving a warning) for one or more offence
  • Young people are often victims of:-
  • Theft from rented flats
  • Theft of cars (or from cars), or
  • Violence in the street
