Cracking is the process of spliting long- chain hydrocarbons to make them into more useful substances. Long - chain hydrocarbons from fractional distilation form thick gloopy liquids which aren't useful for much, therefore the process called Cracking is used to form them into smaller ones for fuels (Parrafin and Petrol) and plastics.
