The Cosmological Argument For The Existence Of God
The Cosmological argument is based on the first three of Aquinas’ Five Ways, Motion, Causation and Contingency.
Motion
1) Everything in this world has motion/ everything moves
2) Nothing can move just by itself something has to start it
3) There cannot be a infinite regress - the line of movers cannot go back forever, something has to be the prime mover
4) This Prime mover is God
Causation
1) Everything in the world has a cause
2) Nothing can cause itself
3) There cannot be an Infinite regress of causation, something had to cause the start of causation
4) The first cause is God
These 2 arguments are exactly the same, just with different meanings
Contingency
