Why do we conserve:

- Resources e.g food and drugs

- Natural areas are attractive to look at

- Helps prevent climate change (e.g if we cut down trees they release CO2)

- Prevent food chain disruption

- However, there is often conflict as conservation can effect peoples livelihoods.

How can we conserve:

1) Seed banks

Different varieties of endangered seeds are stored for later use where they may be used to regrow the plant if it becomes extinct

Positive: Large numbers of species can be stored as they dont require much space
