New ideas spread quickly - the invention of the printing press meant that ideas could spread quickly around Europe and old and new books could be studied by more people.

New style of art - a new desire to show the human body in more realistic detail led artists to study the body more carefully and publish accurate drawings of their findings.

New learning - a scientific method of learning began which involved observation, hypothesis and experimentation.
