1st, 2nd, 3rd order

Primary afferent neuron - brings info from periphery into spinal cord via dorsal horn - cell bodies contained in dorsal root ganglion. Remains ipsilateral - on the same side. Terminates by forming synapse in dorsal horn of grey matter of spinal cord.

Secondary neuron - crosses to other side of spinal cord and ascends to the thalamus where it forms synapse with 3rd order neuron - Anterolateral - SPINOTHALAMIC tract…
