Procedure - 

·       He tested conformity by showing participants two large white cards at the same time. On one was a 'standard line' and on the other there were three 'comparison lines'. One of the three was the same length as the standard line and the others were clearly not. The participant was asked which of the three matched the standard line.

·       Participants in that study were 123 American male undergraduates, tested individually with a group of between 6 and 8 confederates. The participants weren’t aware the others were confederates
