Conduction- the process where vibrating particles transfer energy to neighbouring particles.

  • Energy is transfered by heating which transfers energy to the thermal store of the object, this energy is passed on via kinetic energy.
  • Energy is transfered through an object via conduction through the metal handle of a pan.
  • Materials with high thermal conductivty transfer energy between particles quickly.

Convection- Where energetic particles moove away from hotter to cooler reigions.

  • Only in liquids or gases,.
  • Particles move faster the more you heat them and the space between individual particles increases.
  • If there's…
