Communicable Disease

Communicable ( infectious) disesases that can be spread easily by a pathogen (disease causing microorganism). Pathogens can be bacteria, viruses, prostits or fungi.

Bateria:

• Reproduce rapidly inside your body via bianary fission.
• They make you feel ill by producing toxins (poisons) that damage your cells and tissues.

Viruses:

• Not cells but are 1/100th the size of a bacterium.
• Reproduce rapidly using the machinery of the hosts body cells to produce many copies of themselves.
• The hosts body cell will eventually birst and release all of the new viruses, this damages your cells and makes you feel ill.
