ID, EGO, SUPEREGO:

• ID:primitive, impulsive side that is completley innate. It responds to our instincs, hence has no filter. 
• SUPEREGO: moral side of our psyche, thinks consciously. 
• EGO: a balance between the ID and the SUPEREGO. It balances what our brain is thinking with the external reality that we live in. Experiences moral conflicts between the two, which are reflected in our dreams and neurotic symptoms.

• Freud says that people suffering with obsessional neurosis (for example, OCD) where they carry out repeating patterns and are obsessie over things being in a certain way are similar to religious people who perform rituals…
