Causes of the Cold War -  America and The Soviet Union had completely different views, America was Capitalist and the Soviets were Communist. When Truman came into power, he was determined to beat Communism. This created some friction between the two leaders; Truman and Stalin. The hatred led to the collapse of the war time alliance. The Yalta and Potsdam Conferences - These were held to discuss what to do with Europe after they won World War 2. Yalta conference was held in February 1945, Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt agreed that Germany should pay reperations and be split into 4 zones. Potsdam conference was held in July 1945, Stalin, Atlee and Truman met to discuss Germany, there were many disagreements, including the fact that Truman was angree that the Soviets demanded such high
