Plants can be cloned by 1 of the following:

  • Cutting - gardeners can take cuttings from good plants and plant them to produce identical copies of the parent plant. This can be produced quickly and cheaply.
  • Tissue culture - where a few plant cells are put in a growth medium with hormones and they then grow into new plants which are clones of the parent plant. The advantage of this is that you can make new cells very quickly in very liitle space and you can grow all year.
  • Disadvantage for both = reduced gene pool

Farmers can produce cloned offspring from their best bull and cow…
