- The analyst documents the user’s requirements

Definition, Investigation and Analysis
- This is a typical scenario: The customer tells the analyst what they want; The analyst produces a requirements specification
- Here lies the problem: If the customer is not shown the requirements specification, what happens? If the customer is shown the requirements specification:
- Discussion takes place; Customer clarifies their needs; Analyst clarifies their understanding; Requirements specification is re-drafted
Design
- Assume the analyst now understands exactly what the client wants; The designer takes over
- Does the designer understand the requirements specification? The designer has never met…
