RELIGION, SPORT AND LEISURE

Stress- The mental or physical distress caused by pressure or difficult circumstances.

SIGNS OF STRESS

Can't concentrate or make decisions
Overworking
Behaviour changes
Loss of self confidence etc.

RELAXATION

Act of relaxing the body and/or mind in order to become less tense.
Can be done in many ways for different people. Playing an instrument, meditation, video games, exercise or even going on facebook could be a form of revision for some people.

MEDITATION

Buddhists have practiced this art for 1000's of years as a form of relaxation, getting in touch with deep feelings, freeing themselves of disturbing emotions such as hatred, anger, or jealousy.

LEISURE

-A persons free time when they have no work to do.
-Helps to prevent boredom

  • Refreshes a person
  • Improve someones enjoyment and satisfaction with life.
  • Stimulates a persons creativity.

RELIGIOUS ATTITUDES TOWARDS LEISURE

All religions recognise the value of leisure and relaxation
They believe it gives believers a chance to practise thier faith

PILGRIMAGE

A religious believers free time could be used to go on a pilgrimage
Buddhists could go to Bodh Gaya the place where the Buddha was enlightened.
Christians could go to Jerusalem
Also some people who are not religious could go on a pilgrimage of sorts to a place that has great importance in their lives such as a historian going to Auschwitz because of their belief that they should know more about the Holocaust so they could document their feelings and increased knowledge about it.

BENEFITS OF LEISURE

  • Relaxes the mind
  • Can stretch the mind by making it do something creative.
  • Improves fitness
