Circulatory System - Blood Vessels
There are three types of blood vessel:
- ARTERIES - these carry the blood away from the heart
- CAPPILLARIES - these are involved in the exchanging if materials at the tissues (really tiny)
- VIENS - these carry the blood to the heart
The Arteries:
They leave the heart and carry blood away from it. The heart pumps blood at high pressure and enters the artieries so they have:
- Strong walls - elastic fibres allow them to move to stretch and then recoil at every blood spurt
- Contain a thick layer of muscle…
