Chromosomes and Mitosis

Chromosomes contain genetic material. Chromosomes are coiled up lenghts of DNA molecules. Genes control the development of different characteristics such as hair colour. You have two copies of each chromosome, they have 23 pairs. 

Multicellular organisms use mitosis to grow and replace cells that have been damaged, it results in 2 new daughter cells.
