Dickens suggests in the novel that the Christmas Spirit brings out the best in people, and makes people generous, kind and joyful. He suggests it is powerful, as it is able to change Scrooge, and that it also has both a religious and secular side. He also suggests that it is important to keep Christmas spirit all year round.
