'Then the Lord placed the man in the Garden of Eden to cultivate it and guard it.' This means they have a responsibility to care for the environment, backed up by further rules in Old Testament, for example fruit trees were not to be destroyed when attacking a city, working animals rest every seventh day, land rests every seventh year.

'God looked at everything he had made and he was very pleased.' God owns the planet and we should never destroy God's creation. Jesus didn't teach about environmental issues but they lived much simpler…
