a.) Describe how and explain why the Church can play an important role in the life of a Christian family. (8)

The Church is a focus for the family in the community. It is the destination where marriages, baptisms and funerals take place. "Marriage is given, that husband and wife may comfort each other" - Common Worship 2000. Without the Church the marriage would not take place in the "House of God" therefore the couple wouldn't feel as holy. The church allows the marriage to be in the "House of God".

The parents should teach children about their faith. The best place for them to educate them is a Church where they can visit and possibly get professional advise or input. The Church is where they can put Jesus' teachings into practice.
