A Christian may use the teaching of Agape to support helping a neighbour. Agape teaches love. The most loving thing to do for your neighbour is to help and look after them. This shows love for your neighbour, therefore follows the teaching of Agape.

A Christian may use the parable of The Good Samaritan - Luke 10. In this parable, a man helps a Jew, a sworn enemy. The Jew is in need and the Samaritan puts aside their differences and helped the Jew. The Samaritan helped his neighbour when he was in need.
