The bride and groom attend classes with the minister or vicar before the actual wedding. This ensures that they understand the true meaning of the marriage. Remember:
Vicar - Church of England
Priest - Catholic or Orthodox
Minister - Non - conformist
The banns (announcements) are read in a Parish church three weeks before the wedding takes place. This allows anyone who knows of any reason why the marriage should not take place to say so.
The church is Gods symbolic house so people get married in a church. However some people say that God is everywhere so get married anywhere as God will still bless the marriage.Jesus said "Wherever two or three gathered together in my name I am in the midst of them".
