Importance
- an expression of their faith in God
- a way of showing respect, devotion and thanks to God
- alows to seek and recieve forgiveness from God for the things they have done wrong
- oppportunity for connecting with God in a way that supports and helps them to grow spiritually
Private and Communal Worship
- Worship God on their own (Private)
- Or with others (Commnunal or collective worship)

- Interpreting a passage from the bible
- Silent prayer about personal concern
- Expressing thanks for something good
- Develops personal realtionship with God
Liturgical worship
- Set Pattern or Ritual
- Traditional but it can contain modern or contemporary elements
- Roman Catholic Church & most Protesttant Churches
- Liturgcal calender to set out particular readings for services
- Liturgical colours worn on vestments
- Book Of Common Prayer (1662) - official service book and cannot be changed without Goverments Approval
- Common Worship: Services Of Prayer for the Church of England (2000)
- Lectionary - Table of bible readings authorised by church authorities for use duing public worship
