Chittamatra literally means 'mind only' and was founded in the 4th century CE by the brothers Asanga and Vasubandhu

  • The school considers that everything we perceive is a projection of the mind, and the way we see the world is totally dependent upon the characteristics of our human senses and does not give us an objective view of how reality is 'out there'
  • It would be arrogant to assume that the way human beings perceive the world is the only objectively true way - the world of our experience
