stages of the lime stone cycle:

1. limestone, or Calcium Carbonate, is heated.. this reacted is called thermal decomposition.
the equation is: calcium carbonate --heat-- calcium oxide + carbon dioxide.
(CaC03 -> CaO + CO2)

2. in the second stage of the limestone cycle, you will start with the calcium oxide, aka quicklime.
Water is added next, to give you , slaked lime. which isCalcium Hydroxide.
