Meanings

Acid - A substance that is acidic due to dissolved gases such as sulphur dioxide, produced by the burning of Fossil Fuels 

Alkali - A Soluble Base

We use th pH Scale to show how acidic or alkaline a solution is. The scale runs from 0 (Most Acidic) to 14 (Most Alkaline).
