The young Earth:
- We can find out more about the earth's early atmosphere by studying other planets and moons.
- Scientists study planets and moons with little chance of life as these are probably similar to early Earth.
- Scientists study volcanoes because they release high volumes of gases. On Earth today, they release mainly carbon dioxide and water vapour along with small amounts of ammonia, methane and nitrogen.
- Many scientists believe That this was the composistion of the Earth's early atmosphere.
