- Atomic Orbital = A region in an atom that can hold up to 2 electrons with oppostie spins
- Types of Orbitals = s,p,d and f.
- s orbital is spherical
- p orbital is a 'dumbell' shape
- Electrons fill orbitals in order of increasing energy
- Electronic configuration = The arrangement of electrons in an atom
- The 4s orbitals are filled before the 3d orbitals
- The configuration for Chromium and copper are not as expected, they end in 4s
