Concentration

concentration is measure of how crowded things are

the more solute you dissolve in a given volume, the more crowded the molecules are and the more concentrated the solution

conc can be measure in grams per dm3

concentration= mass of solute/ volume of solution

to convert from g/dm3 to mol/dm3 you just divide the concentration in g/dm3 by the relative formula mass of the solute

a standard solution has a known concentration

example make 250cm3 of a 314 g/dm3 solution of sodium chloride

first work out how many grams of solute
