Nutrition [Mrs. Gren] [I wonder if there's any teacher that's actually Mrs. Gren. Or Mrs. Nerg.]
- Movement: Movement is the ability to go from one place to another. Both plants and animals move, even though animals move much faster than plants.
- Animals may move to get food for themselves, or to escape from predators. They move in many different ways.
- Plants tend to move toward the source of light, i.e. Phototropism.
- Animals may move to get food for themselves, or to escape from predators. They move in many different ways.
- Respiration: All living things respire because they need energy. Respiration involves chemical reactions that occur in cells to break down nutrients, such as glucose, to release energy. We have two types of respiration:
- Aerobic Respiration: This is the kind of respiration that needs oxygen. The chemical equation is as follows: C6H12O6 + 6 O2 → 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + Energy [ATP]
- Anaerobic Respiration: This kind of respiration does not need oxygen.
- Sensitivity/Irritability: This is an organism's reaction…
