Even the best plot in the world won't get very far without some characters... You need to learn how writers show their characters' personalities in their texts.

Writers tell you about their Characters.

The way a writer gives the reader information about their characters is called characterisation. You can learn about characters by what they say and do, what other characters say about them, and from their own thoughts and feelings (especially if the text is written in the first person).

E.g. 

1) "I'' show you around," Hajira said kindly, "I remember how scary it is being the new kid."

From what she says we can see that Hajira's character…
