Changing Technology

This is a vast area of social changeand has had a huge impact on society and family life. Often, it is easy to assume that technology refers simply to computers. The effect of computers and entertainment technology on daily life has been enormous but the term could include transport, buildings or work technology. For example, IVF is a form of medical technology that enables previously childless people to have children. The mircowave oven despite being first developed in the 1940s, became a common household items in the 1980s due to social changes that meant working women had less time for cooking.
