Sensible

  • Chamberlain could do nothing to prevent Anschluss which appeared both popular and in the spirit of self-determination 
  • Munich bought valuable time for rearmament especially fighter production & radar preparation; in addition the army was unprepared and the navy reliant upon an ageing force of capital ships 
  • Gave Hitler a necessary last
