Cell Surface membrane
- 'Triliminar' - 3 layers
- a partially permeable barrier controlling the exchange between the cell and its environment.
- act as recptors for hormones, neurotransmitters
- allow compartments to be formed inside the cell
- chromosomes contain DNA, the molecule of inheritance. DNA oraganised into genes which controls all the activities of the cell
- nuclear envelope - regulates the flow of substances in and out of the nucleus
