1.1 The world of the microscope
Most cells you can only see using a microscope, so you need to know the units used for such tiny specimens.
1 kilometer (km) = 1000 meters (m)
1 meter (m) = 100 centimeters (cm)
1 centimeter (cm) = 10 milimiters (mm)
1 militmeter (mm) = 1000 micrometers (µm)
1 micrometer(µm) = 1000 nanometers (nm)
THE MAIN TYPES OF MICROSCOPES...
> Light Microscopes
They use a beam of light to form an image of an object and the best can magnifiy to around 2000 times.
> Transmission electron microscopes
This gives a 2D images with very high magnification…
