Cell Structure

What is diffusion?

The speading out of particles is diffusion. During diffusion, molecules move from an area of high concentration to an area which has low concentration. They are said to move down a concentration gradiant. Diffusion is a passive process which means that no enegery is needed.

The rate of diffusion depends on several factors, such as the distance the particles have between to travel and the difference in concentration.

Plant cells

-Nucleus

-Ribosome

-Cell membrane

-Mitochondria

-Cell wall

-Permanant vacuole

-Chloroplasts

Animal cells

-Nucleaus

-Cytoplasm

-Cell membrane

-Mitochondria

-Ribosomes

Examples of diffusion in the body

Diffusion is the main way in which substances mover over short distances in organisms. What substances need to
