Risk: the probability that a hazardous event will occur, the consequence of that hazardous event.

Can be measured by % - 0 %= no harm will occur 100%= harm will certainly occur

Needs a timescale.

Risk is relative: comparing the likelyhood  of harm occuring in those exposed to hazards with those that are not.  There are always other factors that we have to take into consideration. 

Risk Factors and Cancer not a single disease so does not have a single cause -age and genetic factors 

- lifestyle factors (smoking,diet, obesity, physical activity, sunlight)
