Acyl Chlorides/Acid Chlorides
Acyl Chloride + alcohol= Ester and water
Conditions room temperature ( no acid cataylst is needed as the acyl choride is far more reactive as chloride is a far better leaving group as it is so electron negative.
Acyl chloride + conc NH3 = amide and HCl
Conditions this is done in a glass tube which is sealed and heated( and yes very dangerous)
Acyl chloride + water = carboxylic acid
Conditions room temperature
Acyl Chloride + Amine = N-subsituted Amide +HCl
