C3 Titrations

Titration is used to find the exact volumes of acids + alkali's that react together completely (neutralise)

To do this we need to set up a experiment to do this.

 Equipment list:

  • Conical flask
  • Burette
  • Pipette
  • Clamp/Stand/Boss
  • Acid/ Alkali (of known concentration)
  • Acid/Alkali (we want to test)
  • Indicator
  • White Tile

Method:

1) Set up equipment as shown in the diagram

2) Using the pipette measure out the amount of acid/alkali (with unknown Concentration) you want into the conical flask and add a few drops of indicator

3) Then pour the know acid of alkali into the burrete and let out any extra until the meniscus reaches 0

4) Then begin, add a few drops at a time into the flask…
