the haber process is used to manufacture ammonia, and ammonia can be used to make fertilizers and other chemicals.
how it is made:
nitrogen (from the air) and hydrogen (obtained by natural gas) are purified and mixed. the gases are passed over an iron catalyst at a temp of 450 degrees and a pressure of 200 atmospheres
