C3.4 - The Alkali Metals.

The Alkali metals are group 1 metals and are relatively soft with a low density, low melting and boiling points. As you go down the group the nuclei become bigger and therefore heavier. Because of this the single electron in the outer shell is lost more easily because there is less gravitational pull on the electron.
