Electrolysis of lead bromide

Lead bromide is the eletrolyte - an electrolyte is a substance we carry electrolysis out on

The lead bromide must be molten to break it down into it's two ions - Pb2+ Br-

Molten also allows he ions to move


Positive electrode called an anode

Negative electrode is called a cathode
