Why are Fossil fuels finite resources and non-renewable?

  • Non-renewable resources are used up faster than they are formed
  • Finiter resources are no longer being made, or being made extremely slowly.

Crude oil is a mixture of many Hydrocarbons

Hydrocarbons are made up of Carbon and Hydrogen atoms ONLY

Problems associated with finite nature of crude oil

  • Finding replacements is extremely hard
  • All the readily extracable resources will be used up in the future

Fractional Distilation

  • Crude oil is heated
  • Use of temperature
