Recently, I had to ask a question about why Delta-8 oil, one of the leading full spectrum herbal oils is being banned from personal consumption in the United States. While I was doing my research, I quickly noticed that there are two major reasons for Delta-8's ban: marijuana and hemp extracts are "classed" as drugs, and hemp extract has been shown to have carcinogenic qualities. Delta-8 however is not classified as a drug, and is simply an herbal extract. I asked why Delta-8 oil would be banned when it is perfectly legal elsewhere in the world? My research led me to a few major reasons.
First, it is important to recognize that despite the current government stance on cannabis, it is still illegal to sell Delta-8 cannabis in most states, including California. This is because Delta-8 is one of two extracts used in medical marijuana, which is known as cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is the chemical in cannabis, which does not have any psychoactive properties! Delta-8 thc oil contains no cannabidiol and therefore was added to the list of cannabis extracts in the US.
Second, it appears that the FDA may have been scared away from approving another herbal supplement, this time full spectrum Delta-8 oil, due to the fact that it contained hemp extract. Hemp extract is actually a by-product of cultivation of the…
